Amber Summerz
Director of Content Creation
Amber brings a deeply personal perspective to the organization's mission of supporting teens and women who have endured the profound scars of trauma. Her journey is intertwined with stories of profound loss, enduring abuse, and the resilience to rise above it all.
Growing up, she experienced firsthand the insidious effects of domestic violence, enduring years of abuse at the hands of her own father. The very person who should have been their protector became her greatest fear. Despite the darkness that clouded her childhood, she found solace and strength in her mother's unwavering love and support. For 27 years, her mother stood by her father's side, enduring abuse, over and over again.
Tragically, on October 31, 2020, her world was shattered when her father committed the ultimate act of violence, taking her mother's life in a senseless murder-suicide. In an instant, she was robbed of her mother’s presence, warmth, and the guiding light that had illuminated her path through the darkest of times. The pain of her loss is a burden Amber carries with her every day, a reminder of the devastating impact of domestic violence and the urgent need for change.
Amber’s journey as a survivor of abuse fuels her unwavering commitment to creating a world where no one else has to endure the horrors that her family faced. At SIS Projects, she is dedicated to providing a lifeline of support to those who have experienced trauma, offering resources, empowerment, and a safe space to heal. As Director of Content Creation, she leverages the power of storytelling to amplify the voices of trauma, shedding light on the resilience and strength that define her community.
Together, she is rewriting the narrative of trauma, reclaiming voices, and paving the way for a brighter, more hopeful future. Through collective efforts, she aims to break the cycle of violence, cultivate a culture of empathy and understanding, and ensure that every survivor knows they are not alone in their journey towards healing.
Join her as she stands together, united in her commitment to creating a world where love triumphs over fear and every voice is heard and valued..
